Over 12,000 Players Coached Since 2004!

Spring Training Baseball

Spring Training director Dan Spring oversees all programs as well as acts as Director of Baseball.  Dan was a 3 sport varsity athlete growing up in Washington D.C. where was a 3-time “All Met” selection as a catcher, the 1998 Gatorade Player of the Year, and the top high school recruit at about a dozen colleges.  Turning down scholarship offers and interest from professional scouts, he decided to continue his baseball career at Brown University where he was a 4-year starter, 2-time All Ivy League selection, named to the All New England Team, served as the team’s captain, and started at all 9 positions throughout his career.  After graduating, he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers and spend 2 season in professional baseball with the Tigers and Cardinals before retiring in 2004 to coach full-time.  Dan founded Spring Training in 2005 as a way to teach both baseball skills and life lessons to the next generation of ball players and has since coached over 8000 players.

Spring Training’s extremely popular baseball camp program is designed to improve your ballplayer’ skills while having a ton of fun in a positive and safe learning environment.  Our annual Summer Camp (June – August), Winter Break Camp (Dec) and Spring Break Camp (April) programs feature a low coach to camper ratio and have had over 5000 participants since 2005.  Our staff of professionally coaches have years of experience working with young athletes and all possess a unique ability to positively communicate with little leaguers to make sure your son has an absolute blast learning new skills.   In addition to physical skill development, all Spring Training campers learn important life lessons such as teamwork, sportsmanship, respect for the others, maximizing effort at all times, and academic achievement.   Our goal always has been and always will be to create all-stars on the field, and outstanding citizens off the field.  Each camp day features daily drills, competitions and live games focusing on: throwing, groundballs, flyballs, pitching, hitting, baserunning, and more!

Spring Training now has camp locations throughout the South Bay.

Spring Training coaches are available January-May and September-December for private instruction.  Private lessons are scheduled through each individual Spring Training coach and can focus on any aspect of the game.  Please email DanielSpring14@gmail.com for more information.

Spring Training has run the Palos Verdes Fall Ball league since 2007 and registration for the league begins in August of each year.  This is a not a travel or club program: all players are encouraged to sign up and there will be no tryouts.  All games and practices take place at Rolling Hills LL (no traveling!) and are coached 100% by Spring Training’s staff of professional coaches.  No yelling, no pressure to win, and every players will get even playing time at all positions throughout the season. This is a developmental league and by removing tryouts, scorekeeping, politics about playing time, etc the focus is entirely on each player’s enjoyment and development – NO DRAMA!
